Check these links for information on “White Horse Lake”. If you come to this campground, you will have a nice time for sure. Oak Creek is a tremendous whitewater spot near White Horse Lake Campground; the Dorsey Spring Trail offers hiking at its best. A journey to Slide Rock State Park when you’re here at White Horse Lake Campground is never a bad idea, and Walnut Canyon National Monument is a good place close by. So many fun things near White Horse Lake Campground; camping is such an enjoyable activity, and this is a magnificent place to do that.
At White Horse Lake Campground you don’t see much rain; the month with most of the rain is August; June is when it’s the driest.

try West Clear Creek, East of Camp Verde, off AZ 260 :
    Forest Road FR142B, 142D . . . wooded area, several access
