Creative Marriage Proposal Ideas

Posted in CAmping Ideas  by admin on November 27th, 2008

Getting ready to propose but can’t come up with a way to make her say wow. Here are some marriage proposal ideas that are little more creative than your average dinner out. In a recent study the majority of married women reported that they believe that their spouse spent a significant amount of money on their wedding proposal but that the lack of originality in the proposal had left the women feeling disappointed. So remember that when it comes to marriage proposal ideas creativity is better than luxury.

Marriage Proposal Idea - Outdoors
An outdoor enthusiast might appreciate a creative proposal during a camping trip. It’s a good idea to plan a quiet trip for just you and your girlfriend at a picturesque location. If you can convince her to go fishing with you, hide the ring inside the tackle box. Then when you start fishing ask her to hand you the “diamond lure”. When she asks what a “diamond lure” tell to look in the box and she will recognize it instantly. Just make sure that when you attempt this

that she enjoys the out doors and won’t complain the whole time.

Tune In Every time I go to visit my girlfriend she is always playing the radio, and always tuned to the same station. Having the DJ of your girlfriend’s favorite radio program ask her if she will marry you is another creative marriage proposal idea. You will want to make sure that you are aware of the exact time that the DJ will be sending your message so that you are able to ensure that you and your girlfriend are listening together when he makes the announcement. You could also arrange to have the DJ play a song that has a special meaning for you as a couple so that you can enjoy a dance together after she accepts your creative proposal.

Marriage Proposal Idea Family Affair
Another creative way to propose is to include all of your family and friends in the event by inviting them all to a surprise party for your girlfriend. To make this proposal work, you would either convince your girlfriend that you want to have a quiet dinner at home or at a restaurant with just the two of you. Once you arrive at the destination all of the guests will reveal themselves and while all eyes are on the two of you, you could take the opportunity to profess your love and propose.
I hope these marriage proposal ideas have been helpful and have started your creative juices flowing. For more ideas visit www.engagement-rings.com.au

Cheap and inexpensive camping ideas and recipes?

Posted in CAmping Ideas  by admin on November 25th, 2008

I am going camping for 2 nights/ 3 days. There will be from 6-9 people. I need some recipes of what to cook that is inexpensive and some activities to do. There will be some teens.

my dad usually gets this breakfast mix from walmart that has sausage and a bunch of other stuff then you just add eggs and put it in tortillas. you can even add salsa. its really good and the teens will like it too. they have a bunch of different kinds. or just bring cereal.

for lunch? you can never go wrong with pb&j! but bring other kinds of sandwich stuff too.if you want.

dinner. hot dogs. hanburgers. ummm….potato salad. any other kind of salad like that… it all tastes better when you're camping. and its all easy to make and pretty cheap.

you might want to consider spliting up who brings what too then you get a little bit of everything.

Helpful Ideas to Have An Enjoyable Family Vacation

Posted in CAmping Ideas  by admin on November 24th, 2008

Vacations can spell enjoyment and stress at the same time. The time of planning, booking and hazards of trips are just few troubles one may encounter along the way. Nevertheless, one should consider enjoying and the fun side of it rather than divulge on the pressure that can ruin all the plans and preparation.

Family vacation requires a lot of preparation considering that you should satisfy your own desires and likes alongside the wants of your toddlers, teens and spouse. Consolidating the ideas they have and the thrills they want to gain are various points that should be dealt upon for a vacation to be fruitful.

Here are some ideas you can consider when planning to go on a family vacation:

1.Why not go on a beach vacation? It is not easy to please all members of the family and resorts can be a good option. There are beaches where multitude of activities can be done like jet skiing, surfing, and cruising which you and your teens can enjoy. There are also resorts with kids’ pools and slides for your toddlers. Prioritize the enjoyment of the family but check on the safety of the place and the water specifically.

2.The family can also go on a cruise vacation. You can free yourself from planning and other activities because there are packages provided by ships and other cruise lines. All you have to do is choose among the packages and be present on the set date of your floating vacation. Cruise activities include spas, casinos and live entertainment for teens and adults. Youngsters are offered with kids’ activities so nobody is left bored and idle. Check on the medical facilities of the cruise lines to ensure your health while on the cruise.

3.If your family enjoys a country lifestyle, you can have a family ranch vacation. There are ranches which welcome people and offer vacation packages. There are those which are near rivers where you can do rafting and engage in a river trip. The family can also involve in ranch tour, join lessons about horseback riding and take care of horses and other animals such as cattle. A special set of activities for children are designed to get them busy while on the ranch.

4.Adventure vacation is not a bad idea either. Adventures suck as kayaking, sailing, hiking, canoeing, camping, hunting and a whole lot more can excite all the members of the family. Nature tripping is a good adventure to give you and your family fun and learning at the same time.

5.Theme parks can also be a good choice. You can choose Universal Studios which offer an array of incredible rides and attractions. Universal Studios is a theme park and movie studio in one. You can also tour and watch real working films and scenes from your much loved movies. Walt Disney also offers an Animal Kingdom Theme Park and a lot more. Children and adults alike can also enjoy the Disney resorts and other wonderful areas in the Walt Disney.

6.For holiday season, the family can try a snow vacation. Snow can make your vacation a lot different! There are numerous resorts in California, New Hampshire or Vermont which offers country skiing, dog sledding, ice fishing, ice skating, sliding, ice climbing and other exciting activities. There are also schools accepting enrollees for ski lessons; or you can simply enjoy the snow by making snow man, angels, etc.

7.Volunteer vacations. Your family can try the unique but worthwhile volunteer work with helpful humanitarian and nature causes. There are global volunteer works which cater to those groups who wanted to engage in charitable projects. There are those located in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Costa Rica, Africa, and much much more. Projects vary from animal welfare, health and safety, education, community development, children’s issue, environment and nature or poverty. Be sure that family members all compromised with this kind of vacation because laborious work and sacrifice are involved here rather than relaxation.

There are several more ideas one family can think of while planning for their much awaited vacation. One family member differs with another so careful compromises and decision must be made to make sure that all will be satisfied and happy. A good vacation does not depend on its longevity; rather the measure is the quality of time spent with the family.

Favorite camping foods/ideas for dishes to make?

Posted in CAmping Ideas  by admin on November 23rd, 2008

We are going camping for the weekend; supposed to be very hot. Any ideas for good stuff we could bring to eat? Thanks:)

Snack on Yummy Trail Mix
1 box Goldfish crackers (your favorite flavor)
1 box of Teddy Grahams (your favorite flavor)
1 can mixed nuts
1 big bag M&M candies
1 box raisins or craisins, sweetened dried cranberries
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl with a big spoon. Fill snack size baggies with trail mix. It usually makes about 12-15 bags

Camp-fire French Toast
Eggs
Bread
Cinnamon
1 egg per 2 pieces of bread
Syrup

Mix eggs in bowl. Cover both sides of bread with egg. Sprinkle w/cinnamon. Place bread in frying pan. Fry until golden brown. Top w/syrup.

Easy Camp-fire Stew
1 lb. lean hamburg
1 med. onion, pre-chopped
1 lg. or 2 med. potatoes, diced
1 can kernel corn
1 can pinto beans
1 can tomato soup
Salt and pepper to taste

Brown hamburger in a large skillet. Drain. Add chopped onion. Add diced potatoes. Cook until potatoes are nearly done. (Add a little liquid from corn to keep it from sticking.) Add corn and beans with liquid. Continue to cook until potatoes are completely cooked. Add tomato soup, salt and pepper. This dish is especially convenient for camping. It can be made in a large camp pot over a camp stove or a wood fire. (If using a wood fire, use a covered pot.)

Caramel S'mores
marshmellows
chocolate covered graham crackers
caramel syrup (in a squeeze bottle)

Cook marshmellows over camp-fire, when done place on a chocolate graham cracker, top w/caramel syrup and cover with another chocolate graham.

Enjoy!

Fresh Ideas for Those Family Vacations

Posted in CAmping Ideas  by admin on November 21st, 2008

Growing up, my parents were sure to make sure that each and every year consisted of at least 2 family vacations. There were years that we didn’t have a lot of money to be taking lavish family vacations, but they always found some way to get all of us together and give us lasting memories. That’s what life and quality time is supposed to be about - the memories that will last a lifetime. There were years that they splurged and would fly all of us to Disney or the Bahamas.

Most of our family vacations were spent at the beach or camping in the wilderness. Camping didn’t cost very much money and somehow always ended up being a really peaceful vacation. All of the family fights and arguing seemed to be put on hold once we were out in the great outdoors. My parents had purchased a huge, two room tent one year to accommodate their growing children, and it was so much fun for us. My dad would let us stay up late and tell us stories while we snuggled into our sleeping bags. My mother would pretend to be annoyed that we were staying up past our bedtimes, but she was always smiling when she said it. The family vacations to the beach were always thrilling as well. They would rent a house or apartment a few blocks from the beach and we’d spend a week laying in the sun, jumping through the waves and running around in the sand.

It isn’t cheap to plan and take family vacations nowadays. Prices have skyrocketed and the price of fuel can cut some trips short. People are tending to not venture as far away from home to save money. Family vacations to Disney are often advertised that they are discounted or on sale, but even the lower costs can really add up for a larger family. The actual airfare and hotel might be reasonable, but you have to think about all of the food and drinks that add up on those relaxing family vacations. The admissions to the theme parks are amazingly high.

For families who are wanting to take family vacations that will be peaceful and memorable, you don’t always have to spend a fortune. My favorite memories of spending time with my family weren’t in the islands or theme parks, they were of camping. Of course, not every family craves spending time in the great outdoors. I know some families who can’t live without electricity and a comfy bed. There are other options. If you’re looking to travel someplace, see if there are package deals that might include all of your meals. That could save your family quite a bit of money. Visit the beaches in the off-season to take advantage of lower rates and smaller crowds of people. Visit local destinations instead of venturing farther away. And remember, family vacations aren’t always about where you go or how much money you spend - it is about making memories.
