most places around here.. yeah. I mean you cant go to a well known beach and get away with it. I dunno maybe socal is different, I know its hard to even get away with drinking at a beach up here near santa cruz. But then again monterey and half moon bay have tons of deserted beaches.

I've been checking around for primitive camping sites in the Northern Florida Panhandle and Gulf Shores, Alabama where the tents can be set up on the beach instead of nearby areas. It seems that most camping areas are now set as RV parks and tent camping always seems to be delegated to remote locations away from the beach. We are looking for the experience of sleeping near the water to be able to fall asleep hearing the waves.
Gulf Coast State Park in Gulf Shores, Alabama has primitive camp sites but again it is across from the beach but still within walking distance. I believe there are regulations on camping on coastal properties that no longer allow "Beach camping"
well I cant give you a name of a place, but if your state is anything like mine you have many state parks. Get a camp sight there. Around here they have a few sights that are called backpacking camp sights, they are alittle bit off the road and you wont end up next to some huge RV larger then my freekin apt lol
