Posted in Recreation Vehicles by admin on December 6th, 2008
The Comparative Aircraft Flight Efficiency (CAFE) Foundation has been selected by NASA to conduct an annual flight competition – The Personal Air Vehicle (PAV) Centennial Challenge. This $250,000 technology prize competition is a 5-part flight contest, designed to bring forth a new class of quiet, efficient, environmentally friendly and easy-to-operate personal air vehicles that will extend convenient air travel to a greatly expanded segment of the American public. The 2007 PAV Challenge will be staged August 4 — August 11 at the CAFE Flight Test Center at Sonoma County’s Charles M. Schulz Airport.

Yes I have heard of top rudder and am familiar with the concept. but that turn we are talking about in this video wasn’t any knife edge, or slow roll, etc….

Have you ever heard …
Have you ever heard of top rudder? when you’re knife edge the rudder acts as an elevator.
like in a slow roll? 4 point roll? 8 point roll?

Very disappointing…

If you were looking …
If you were looking he actually used left rudder to keep the nose up. and stay level with the chase plane.

Hmm, for a …
Hmm, for a proffesional test pilot I would have thought you would use a bit of rudder when you did the break from the chase plane, would have cleaned up the adverse yaw.
